With each Draft, you will need to submit a cover letter that explains the history and intentions of the piece. The purpose of this is to articulate your goals and think about your thinking (what we call metacognition). However, these letters are informal.
Here are the questions you should answer:
- How did the piece of writing start?
- What changes did it go through from start to finish?
- What principles of technique did you consciously use?
- Whom do you visualize as your reader?
- Can the piece of writing be paraphrased? How?
- How does this piece of writing differ from the first draft in: (a) quality (b) theme (c) technique?
*Please add any other remarks which you consider pertinent
