*Instructors: this activity requires you or the students to bring in examples of writing. At the beginning of class, collect all the pieces.

1. From the collection of passages, choose one that speaks to you.
2. Try to replicate the style of that piece in a freewrite. You can write about anything.
3. Once you are finished with this freewrite, pass it to your neighbor. Don’t tell them what you were replicating. You will also receive a freewrite.
4. After reading the freewrite, replicate step 2.
5. Repeat step 3.
6. Repeat step 2.
